Bacon Brussel Sprouts


6 ounces nitrate free bacon, 1/4 inch diced

1/2 pound brussel sprouts, trimmed and cut in half

3/4 tsp sea salt

3/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

3/4 cup chicken broth


How to Make:

-Cook bacon in a pan.  Remove bacon once cooked and set aside.

-Add brussel sprounts to leftover bacon grease (if the bacon is a good quality bacon, there should be minimal grease left).  Add salt and pepper as well.  Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occassionally.  Brussel sprouts should get lightly browned.

-Add the chicken broth.  Lower heat an cook uncovered, stirring occassionally, until sprouts are tender when pierced with a fork (about 15 minutes).  If pan gets too dry, add a little more chicken broth or water.

-Return bacon to pan, heat through, and serve.
